Lauren has devoted her legal career to the practice of family law, and has over a decade of experience exclusively practicing family law. She is certified by the State Bar of California as a specialist in family law. Lauren earned a Juris Doctor from the University of California, School of Law San Francisco (formerly Hastings) and a Bachelor's in Anthropology from the University of California, San Diego.

Lauren has an insightful and practical style. She knows that her clients’ families are vitally important, and believes in a pragmatic approach with zealous advocacy when needed. Her practice includes all aspects of marital dissolution including property division, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, and domestic violence. She has extensive experience drafting and reviewing prenuptial agreements and marital settlement agreements, and represents clients in negotiations, hearings, and when necessary, at trial. Lauren regularly represents clients in San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Santa Clara, Contra Costa, and Marin counties.

Prior to co-founding Kreitzer Sadler Birnbaum LLP, Lauren opened and ran a San Francisco family law office as a solo practitioner for several years. Before opening her own firm, she interned in the San Francisco Unified Family Court, and then worked her way up from a law clerk to a senior associate in a respected San Francisco family law firm.

Lauren is active in the family law community. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco as Secretary. She is an active member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists. She has served as a family law grader for the legal specialist exam administered by the State Bar of California for the past several years. Lauren regularly volunteers with the San Francisco Unified Family Court as a settlement master and volunteer attorney of the day in order to assist in resolving disputes without the need for a Court hearing or trial.

Lauren grew up in Monterey, California and has lived in the Bay Area since 2010. In her free time, Lauren serves as an alumni coach for the UC Law San Francisco Trial Team and judges mock trial competitions for high school, collegiate, and law school competitions. She enjoys swimming, cooking, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and cat.
